Is “skin purging” normal?

purging caused by acne treatment

Purging is a common reaction with many effective acne treatments. The rapid destruction of acne bacteria causes an increase in inflammation and an initial worsening of the acne. The best way to calm down the skin is to dilute and reduce the quantity and frequency of the application of the night treatment. Start by stopping your acne treatment cream for a few days. When you restart your night cream, you can combine a small quantity of the night cream (pea size) with an equal amount of your moisturizer in your palm. This will result in a diluted, milder cream, which you should apply to the whole area with acne (not just individual pimples).
