Q&A

I am going to a dermatologist very soon. What should I expect? I have severe acne (Mainly on my forehead) and a few on my chin and cheeks. Is there anything I can to do help the clearing process? I workout, drink water, and eat healthy! What am I missing?

Hi, Juliana. Thanks for your question. Diet, exercise and using the right cosmetics is important. However, this is not enough.
Severe acne needs to be treated by real effective anti-acne medications. This starts, in mild to moderate cases, with anti-acne gels such as benzoyl peroxide and continues in moderate to severe acne with oral drugs and blue light therapy. In most countries, a dermatologist can prescribe Accutane without a Gynecologist. He/her may request a blood test to see that you are not pregnant when you start taking it. 🙂
